This site has a plethora of links and discusses evaluations on just about any kind of profession, CJ, business, education, etc. It has international links too. 

Basic Guide to Program Evaluation


This site that offers information about program evaluation in general and provides guidance toward planning and implementing an evaluation process for for-profit or nonprofit programs.  There are many kinds of evaluations that can be applied to programs, for example, goals-based, process-based, outcomes-based, etc.

Texas Criminal Justice Policy Council 


The Criminal Justice Policy Council is a state agency, independent of the Texas Department of Criminal
Justice or other criminal justice agencies.  The site includes a link to "Publications" where you can review copies of their reports and evaluations listed in topical areas. It offers a great example of different evaluation styles used in ways that have direct policy implications.

National Criminal Justice Reference Service


The National Criminal Justice Reference Service is an excellent site for studies that have been performed on a wide variety of criminal justice topics.  There are full texts of evaluations and research documents available on-line by using the search engine.  This may be a good candidate for the criminal/juvenile justice agency related evaluation sites.

National Institute of Justice (reference room)


A great reference site for publications completed under the auspices of the US Department of Justice. This site includes a posting of "recent publications" with an easy hyper-link to a site dedicated to reports of Research and Program Evaluation.

Police Executive Research Forum


PERF is an organization formed with the idea that academics and police executives can work effectively together toward the development of improved law enforcement services. This site includes links to PERF supported program evaluations.

Texas Christian University's Institute of Behavioral Research


This is the address to a web page regarding the Institute of Behavioral Research, at Texas Christian University.
This site provides links to abstracts and full publications on criminal justice evaluation studies.  Abstracts are listed by year and include drug treatment studies and probation and prison-based project publications.  The site also provides links to national treatment evaluation studies.

The Center for the Study of Testing, Evaluation, and Educational Policy (CSTEEP) is an educational research organization located at Boston College in the School of Education. Since its inception in 1980, CSTEEP has conducted research on: testing, evaluation, and public policy studies to improve school assessment practices and international comparative research. 

American Association for Higher Education


The AAHE is an organization committed to the enhancement of university level education. Many professional development programs fall under the auspices of universities and the "Publications" link at this page will send you to many sources that involve the evaluation of professional education and "adult learning."

Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences


The ACJS is one of the leading professional associations whose membership is composed of researchers, educators, lawyers, and criminal justice professionals. They sponsor the publication of The Journal of Criminal Justice Education and a newsletter ACJS Today  both of which regularly include articles and essays related to criminal justice education.


ERICAE Practical Assessment, Research & Evalulation 


Practical Assessment, Research and Evaluation (PARE) is an on-line journal published by the ERIC Clearinghouse on Assessment and Evaluation (ERIC/AE) and the Department of Measurement, Statistics, and Evaluation at the University of Maryland, College Park. Its purpose is to provide education professionals access to refereed articles that can have a positive impact on assessment, research, evaluation, and teaching practice, especially at the local education agency (LEA) level. 


Federal Judicial Center


The Federal Judicial Center is the research and education agency of the federal judicial system. It was established by Congress in 1967 (28 U.S.C. §§ 620-629), on the recommendation of the Judicial Conference of the United States. Their site includes links to several sites that report on the outcome of different training programs they have conducted.

Here you will find a full range of information geared to help you make professional development a bedrock of excellence in your school or district. This site is designed for school and district-level teachers, administrators, and others interested in improving professional development. Although not directly related to criminal justice, this site provides good information on the topic of professional development and includes a link to a site that gives step-by-step instructions on "how-to" evaluate professional development programs.
 

 

Texas Law Enforcement Training Coordinators Association

 

TLETCA stands for Texas Law Enforcement Training Coordinators Association. A little over a year ago TCLEOSE the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officers Standards Education modified the state Licensing test to become a Peace Officer. This web page provides a place where training instructors can find resources (and a few fun links) to better the development of training. It also includes links to educational institutions because there is a growing trend to have officer develop 2 year and 4 year degrees.
