I am an Assistant Professor of
Department of Computer Science at
Sam Houston State University.
I received my B.E. degree in Computer Engineering from
Chonbuk National University, Korea;
M.A. in Computer Science from
Korea University, Korea;
and both M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Sciences under
Dr. Inderjit S. Dhillon from
The University of Texas at Austin.
I used to be a member of
DB & Data Mining Lab at Korea University and
Data Mining Lab(DML) and
Data Mining Group(DMG) at
UTCS.

My research interests include
Data Mining,
Statistical Pattern Recognition,
Machine Learning,
and related topics.
My dissertation focuses on
Co-clustering Algorithms and their Extensions and Applications to various tasks in
Text Mining,
Bioinformatics,
and Pervasive Computing.
Previously, I worked on Soft Computing,
including Neural Networks, Evolutionary Computation, Fuzzy/Rough Set Theory, and Linear Matrix Inequality.
