EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent. A minimum of three (3) years work experience with at least one (1) year work experience in a general office environment. Or a combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities.
NATURE & PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To perform moderately difficult and responsible clerical duties in the Admissions Office which require frequent independent judgment as it relates to the standard admissions policies, practices, and functions of the University.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties of this position will include but are not necessarily limited to the following responsibilities: Answering phones and questions pertaining to the admissions process. Receive, code, and prepare admission applications for computer input. Prepare and update prospective student files. May prepare letters and mailouts to prospective students. Enter computer information concerning admissions of prospective students. Interpret established policies and procedures of the Admissions Office. Assemble and compile data for reports from a wide variety of sources. May assist the front desk as needed and route visitors to appropriate offices. Performs other related duties as assigned.
OTHER SPECIFICATIONS:
The incumbent must be reliable, personable, and exhibit a positive image for the department and University. Must also possess the ability to communicate effectively with a varied range of visitors and work in a "high traffic" area with several distractions. Requires a typing score of at least 40 words per minute net score.
