EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of one (1) year experience in Academic Advising. Or a combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities.
NATURE & PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Serves as Academic Advisor and Mentor to students and helps to design programs relevant to students in their academic pursuits.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Advises enrolled and prospective students regarding academic programs and curriculum.
2. Analyze and process degree plans.
3. Maintains student files updated through their academic careers and make changes to records as necessary.
4. Provides retention services for students on probation.
5. May assist in coordinating orientation sessions for groups of incoming new students.
6. May assist in recruiting high school or community college students and may give presentations to small or large groups.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
