EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related degree. Three (3) years experience in budget analysis and preparation and administration operations or equivalent. Or a combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities.
NATURE & PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Provide administrative support to Associate VP for Budget and Operations Office. Primary responsibility for review and entry of Signature Authority, Budget Adjustments, Payroll Action Forms, Travel, and Annual Operating Budget development.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide accurate, timely entry of budgetary transactions, including Payroll Action Forms, and position control changes to ensure funding is available to cover entry and will not create any deficit due to entry of personnel/position change. Entry of Signature Authority and communication with account managers and signature authority users. Provide accurate and timely approval of requests for Budget Adjustments, ensure adequacy of funding, consistency with applicable statutes/laws, SHSU operation procedures, and appropriate authority and approvals. Administrative duties for maintaining calendar, phone, and travel arrangements. Performs other related duties as assigned.
OTHER SPECIFICATIONS:
Excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism expected. Must be organized, detail oriented, proficient in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Calendars, Excel and Word), key touch, and have excellent verbal and math skills. Requires accuracy in all phases of work. Must meet schedules and timelines, and exercise initiative and independent thought and judgment over non-routine budget and administrative tasks. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships. Strong organizational skills including the ability to plan, prepare, and compile detailed data.
