EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Bachelor's degree in Education, English or a related field. Master's degree would be helpful. Minimum of two years experience as an English as a Second Language Instructor. Or a combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities.
NATURE & PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Prepares lesson plans, grades student work, and advises students for academic development of students enrolled in the Sam Houston State University English Language Institute. May be responsible for work involving planning, directing, supervising, and participating in special projects.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares lesson plans, grades student work, and counsel students for academic development of students enrolled in the Sam Houston State University English Language Institute. May be responsible for work involving planning, directing, supervising, and participating in special projects. Applies current methods and research in the area of language acquisition to daily lessons. Performs other duties as assigned.
OTHER SPECIFICATIONS:
This is a part-time, non- benefit eligible position (19 hours or less per week).
