TITLE: Assistant Director of Annual Giving HIRING SALARY: $2,954 - 3,500/Month
DEPT: University Advancement CLOSING DATE: June 15, 2009  or when filled

EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business, with three (3) years experience in fund-raising, membership, or sales experience or related area.  Or a combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities.

NATURE & PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Oversee University’s Phonathon Program and coordinate the annual faculty and staff campaign.  Assist the director with the annual giving program.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Hire, train, supervise and evaluate the Phonathon manager and have responsibility for the growth and development of the Phonathon, including the development of procedures and guidelines regarding employment and use of student callers.  Work closely with the director to provide staff leadership for the annual faculty and staff fund-raising campaign, including volunteer management and recognition programs.  Provide reports on the progress of the Phonathon and faculty and staff campaign.  Coordinates programs to expand alumni support.  Write fund-raising material and engage in personal solicitation of gifts in the range of $2,500 to $10,000.  Performs other related duties as assigned.

OTHER SPECIFICATIONS:

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills;  outstanding interpersonal relationship skills and be able to work effectively with students, donors, faculty, staff and colleagues within University Advancement division.  Must be able and willing to work frequent evenings and some weekends.  Represent the director in the director’s absence.
