EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Bachelor's degree with a major in computer science or related field from an accredited institution. One (1) year relevant experience. Or a combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities.
NATURE & PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To provide skilled analysis of information system requirements, develop or modify information system designs, test and debug existing programs, and produce programs that implement those designs. Perform moderately complex programming work.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Code, document, test, and debug programs. Design and implement minor system changes using third and fourth generation languages, client/server, XML, web scripting, and/or database technology to build systems. May assist in writing and maintaining specifications. Perform other related duties as assigned.
OTHER SPECIFICATIONS:
Requires a demonstrated ability to establish congenial work relationships and to communicate effectively within department, workgroup, as well as other University departments. Implements complex policies affecting the departmental level. Work requires a moderate level of judgment and reasoning to solve problems. Work requires attention to detail as errors may be serious.
