EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Kinesiology, or related field with four (4) years of athletic development or related professional experience. Or a combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities.
NATURE & PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To assist the Athletic Director in implementing the marketing and promotions program for the Department of Athletics.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee for the department of athletics external relations activities as well as assist in coordinating efforts, provide administrative support, develop and institute policies, strategies, and procedures for marketing and promotions, radio and television, corporate interests, ticket sales, and assist with supporting the fundraising efforts of the Alumni Organizations. Acts as a liaison with the University Development Office with regard to cultivation, research and the coordination of solicitation strategies as they pertain to all athletic fundraising activities and major corporate support. Supervise a staff who shall have responsibility for monitoring all support groups gifts and donations to the department, assist the administration with the oversight of the administration of all banquets and special events for or related to department activities, issuance of all benefit packages to donors, research of potential new donors and prospects, and general fundraising activities. Coordinate with our compliance office and administer an effective compliance component of the development program ensuring all friends of the department=s athletic interests maintain a full understanding of NCAA rules and regulations. Performs other related duties as assigned
OTHER SPECIFICATIONS:
May be required to teach in an academic program at the discretion of the Athletic Director. Expected to develop an appropriate rapport with athletic teams, community, and university.
