Thank you for your interest in employment with
Sam Houston State University and good luck with your job search.
You will be given every consideration for the position(s) for which
you have applied without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national
origin, age, disability, or status as a veteran.
Please be sure to complete "The
State of Texas Application for Employment" and an "Applicant
Questionnaire" form. In lieu of the "Applicant EEO
Data Form", Sam Houston State University accepts the "Applicant
Statistical Data Sheet". Complete the application thoroughly
(including signatures), since this will be used to determine if
you are interviewed. Resumes will not be accepted in lieu of applications.
The Applicant Questionnaire should be used to show how you meet
the stated minimum requirements; however, any qualifications stated
on the questionnaire must also be clearly documented on the application.
Only apply for positions in which you meet the minimum education
and experience requirements. You will not be considered an applicant
for a position if you do not meet the minimum education and experience
requirements.
All secretarial positions require a typing test
which can be given by any Texas Workforce Commission Office. Attach
a copy of the typing test results to your application, or bring
the original to the Human Resources Department for verification.
If you apply for a position which requires a specific typing (net)
score, only apply for the position if you meet or exceed the requirement.
You will not be contacted after the Human Resources
Department has received your application unless you are selected
for an interview. Do not attempt to contact the hiring department.
If you meet the minimum requirements, but are not chosen for the
position(s), your application will remain on file for two (2) years.
If another position becomes available during the two year period,
it is your responsibility to complete a new Applicant Questionnaire
for each position.
Current SHSU staff employees need to complete the Staff Transfer Job Application Form to apply for a transfer to any of the positions posted below. A current resume or updated application must be attached to the Staff Transfer Job Application Form.
