Degree Requirements:
PhD. in Biology or related discipline
Experience Requirements:
Significant evidence of teaching and research potential in genetics.
Post-doctoral and prior teaching experience in Biology or related discipline preferred.

Sam Houston State is located in historic Huntsville , one quarter of the way from Houston to Dallas, at the boundary between Piney Woods region of East Texas and the Prairies and Lakes region of Central Texas . The university has an enrollment of approximately 16,400 and a faculty of 650.
Usual Duties:
Teach undergraduate courses and teach/develop graduate courses in support of the Biology program. Direct undergraduate and graduate research. Seek extramural funding. Service to the Department, the University, the community and the profession.
Salary:
$45,000 - 55,000 (9 Month)
