Degree Requirements:

Seeking individuals with a Ph.D. and all areas (criminal justice, criminology, forensic science, or related academic field) will be considered. Rank and salary are open depending upon qualifications.

Experience Requirements:

The Criminal Justice Center is a diverse multidisciplinary institution dedicated to criminal justice education, research and professional development. The College seeks individuals with an active research agenda, potential for/or record of funded research activity, commitment to quality teaching and mentoring of students, and teaching competencies at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Environment:

Sam Houston State is located in historic Huntsville, one quarter of the way from Houston to Dallas, at the boundary between the Piney Woods region of East Texas and the Prairies and Lakes region of Central Texas. The university has an enrollment of approximately 16,400 students and a faculty of 650.

Usual Duties:

The College of Criminal Justice is one of the oldest and largest criminal justice programs in the nation. In addition to the Ph.D. in criminal justice, the College offers the M.A., M.S., B.A., and B.S. degrees in criminal justice, forensic science, security studies, and victim studies. Individuals will be expected to contribute to all levels of the instructional program.
