Degree Requirements:

Qualified applicants must have MFA in any Art related discipline.

Experience Requirements:

Teaching experience required. Strong desire to teach foundations courses.

Sam Houston State University has approximately 16,662 students and is located in the National Forest, one hour north of Houston. The Art Department has approximately 450 majors and offers degrees in Studio Art, Photography, Graphic Design, and Computer Animation.

Usual Duties:

The Art Department of Sam Houston State University is searching for at least one artist to be part of a two-person team to teach in a new, innovative, foundation program. The WASH (Workshop in Art Studio and History) program combines six credit hours of studio and three credit hours of lecture and emphasizes contemporary art and theory. Courses will be taught in a new 6000 sq/ft. facility designed exclusively for WASH.
