Associate/Full Professor- Tenure Track
Degree Requirements:
Doctorate in counseling, educational psychology, or related field.
Experience Requirements:
The candidate must meet qualifications for Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas. Must show potential to publish and demonstrate ability to work as a team member. Must demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with faculty in a large master's counseling program with specialties in school counseling/and community mental counseling, and a counselor education doctoral program. Must be able to advise graduate students; serve on committees; participate in professional counseling organizations; and demonstrate scholarly research, writing, and state and national presentations. Successful candidates will have experience teaching research/methodology/statistics and mentoring students in the dissertation process. Preference will be given to graduates of CACREP accredited programs or persons having worked in a CACREP accredited program.
Environment:
Sam Houston State is located in historic Huntsville, one quarter of the way from Houston to Dallas, at the boundary between the Piney Woods region of East Texas and the Prairies and Lakes region of Central Texas. The university has an enrollment of approximately 16,400 students and a faculty of 650.
Usual Duties:
To teach graduate level courses in counselor education, advise and supervise master's graduate students in the program. Will consult with local school districts and regional education centers to offer seminars to local school boards and employees, and recruit new students into the counselor education programs.
Salary:
$60,000- 70,000 (9months)
