Position:
Assistant/Associate/Full Professor-Tenure Track - Kinesiology - Exercise Science
Degree Requirements:
Ed.D or PH.D in Kinesiology/Exercise Science- Earned doctorate in Exercise Science or related field. ABDs with a firm completion date prior to June 2010 will also be considered.
Experience Requirements:
Expected to teach coursework within the Kinesiology program. Teaching experience at the university level, evidence of scholarly productivity, and involvement in professional organizations is desired. Ability to teach undergraduate/graduate courses in the following areas: Exercise Testing and Exercise Physiology.
Environment:
Sam Houston State is located in historic Huntsville, one quarter of the way from Houston to Dallas, at the boundary between Piney Woods region of East Texas and the Prairies and Lakes region of Central Texas. The university has an enrollment of approximately 16,400 and a faculty of 650.
The candidate that is selected for the position will join an outstanding faculty that is housed within the College of Education. The Department of Health and Kinesiology has approximately 800 undergraduate students and 40 graduate students within its various program tracks including Exercise Science, Health, Kinesiology, Physical Education Pedagogy, and Sport Management.
Usual Duties:
Teaching undergraduate/graduate Exercise Science Courses, supervising student interns, conduct research for publication, participating in curriculum reform, and serving on department, college and university committees.
Salary:
$50,000-70,000/(9 Months)
Beginning Date:
Fall 2010 - submission date is January 31, 2009 or until position is filled.
