Experience Requirements:
Must have experience in opera direction, vocal coaching, staging productions and related musical areas. Background in stage performance, university-level teaching experience and comprehensive working knowledge of opera repertoire highly desirable; vocal coaching, staging productions and related musical areas. Experience teaching additional courses that may include vocal diction, Song Literature, Opera Literature, Vocal Pedagogy or studio voice as appropriate/needed.

Sam Houston State is located in historic Huntsville, one quarter of the way from Houston to Dallas, at the boundary between the Piney Woods region of East Texas and the Prairies and Lakes region of Central Texas. The university has an enrollment of approximately 16,400 students and a faculty of 650.
Usual Duties:
Direct opera workshop rehearsals and performances; audition and case students; teach related courses that include but are not limited to vocal diction, Song Literature, Opera Literature, Vocal Pedagogy or Studio Voice as appropriate/needed.
Salary:
$40,000-45,000 (9 Month)
