Degree Requirements:
Completion of Ph.D. in Philosophy by August 1, 2009 is preferred.
Experience Requirements:
Experience or documented potential for teaching a philosophy course or courses.
Environment:
Sam Houston State is located in historic Huntsville, one quarter of the way from Houston to Dallas, at the boundary between the Piney Woods region of East Texas and the Prairies and Lakes region of Central Texas. The university has an enrollment of approximately 16,400 students and a faculty of 650.
Usual Duties:
-Teaching undergraduate courses in Philosophy
-Pursuing scholarly research
-Participating in university service activities, especially those helpful to the Philosophy Program
Salary:
Salary depends on qualifications and experience
Beginning Date:
Fall 2009 (Length of time position will last: one academic year) - (9 months)
