Position:

Assistant/ Associate Professor- Tenure Track

Degree Requirements:

Doctorate with emphasis in education related preferably to assessment, technology, or curriculum development and other degrees related to a teaching area.

Experience Requirements:

A minimum of three years in public schools, record of outstanding teaching, extensive research and publications related to teaching and learning, leadership experience. Working knowledge of relationship among curriculum instruction and assessment in a variety of contexts, demonstrated ability to collect and use data for educational improvement, and leading and mentoring research for colleagues.

Environment:

Sam Houston State is located in historic Huntsville, one quarter of the way from Houston to Dallas, at the boundary between the Piney Woods region of East Texas and the Prairies and Lakes region of Central Texas. The university has an enrollment of approximately 16,400 students and a faculty of 650.

Usual Duties:

Teaching graduate and undergraduate classes; supervising in field experience, advising students, mentoring students and colleagues, serving on committees both universal and departmental, redesigning curriculum, collection and analyzing student, programmatic, and departmental data.
