Degree Requirements:

Earned doctorate in Special Education or related field.

Experience Requirements:

University teaching experience; experience chairing doctoral dissertation committees. Strong record of scholarly production and grant writing.

Sam Houston State is located in historic Huntsville, one quarter of the way from Houston to Dallas, at the boundary between the Piney Woods region of East Texas and the Prairies and Lakes region of Central Texas. The university has an enrollment of approximately 16,400 students and a faculty of 650.

Usual Duties:

Teach master's and doctoral level special education courses; chair these and dissertation committees; mentor faculty and doctoral candidates; participate fully in departmental, college, and university meetings and committees; initiate and collaborate in research and grant activities leading to scholarly publications
