Position:

Visiting Assistant Professor- Interim

Degree Requirements:

PhD in Art History. ABD candidates may be considered. Professor in Art History with a specialization in Contemporary Art/Critical Theory. Secondary areas of expertise in the History of Graphic Design and/or Photography are desirable but all others will be considered.

Experience Requirements:

Teaching experience at the undergraduate level is preferred.

Environment:

Sam Houston State is located in historic Huntsville, one quarter of the way from Houston to Dallas, at the boundary between the Piney Woods region of East Texas and the Prairies and Lakes region of Central Texas. The university has an enrollment of approximately 16,400 students and a faculty of 650.

Usual Duties:

Teach (4) four Lecture classes per semester including Surveys, 20th Century, and Criticism and Theory.

Salary:

42,000-45,000 (9 months)
