Degree Requirements:
PhD or DBA in Accounting from an AACSB accredited university. ABDs in advanced stages of completion will be considered.
Experience Requirements:
University level teaching experience desirable; professional accounting experience highly desirable. Professional certification desired.
Environment:
Sam Houston State is located in historic Huntsville, one quarter of the way from Houston to Dallas, at the boundary between Piney Woods region of East Texas and the Prairies and Lakes region of Central Texas. The university has an enrollment of approximately 16,400 and a faculty of 650.
Usual Duties:
Teach nine hours of accounting per semester; maintain office hours, meet with students as appropriate; conduct research with publication in quality journals as the target; perform service to the university, college, and department as required by policy and as directed; maintain a collegial atmosphere within the college and department; participate in assigned committee activities and maintain active contact with professional organizations.
