Jackson-Shaver Hall is an inside entrance, coed hall with a capacity of 198 residents located on the west part of campus. Two rooms are connected by a bathroom to make a suite. Most rooms have two bunkable beds, movable desks and chests, and built-in closets, although some rooms have only one closet for roommates to share. The residence hall is equipped with central heating and air conditioning, and each room has its own temperature control for the student's personal preference.
Each room has basic cable television and a wall made of tack board that allows students to hang small pictures and posters. A few premium double and private disabled accessible rooms are provided in the hall. Each resident has access to an in-room safe. The safe is included in the room rent for the semester.
Jackson-Shaver Hall is located on the west side of campus next to the Sam Houston Museum.
