Recipients spend eleven months in an Asian country assigned to an internship in their field. Open to senior undergraduates, graduate students and recent alumni. Those specializing in Asian studies are not eligible. Candidates must:

be less than 30 years of age
be U.S. citizen
have received a bachelor's degree prior to the year of the grant
have a record of achievement, leadership ability, and a a clearly defined career interest
