Why Honors?

 

• We offer specialized courses in which students get the opportunity to work closely with professors.
• We offer the Honors Scholarship each semester.
• You have the opportunity to live with fellow academically driven Honors students in our Honors residence Hall (Spivey) and rooms in Raven Village.
• You will have access to the Honors computer lab and lounge. (Located on the 1st floor of ABIV)
• Early registration is open to Honors students a week before all other SHSU students.
• Upon graduation and successful coompletion of the Honors College, you receive special recognition and medallion as well as a permanent notation on your transcript.
• We have a reserved study room in the library for Honors students on the fourth floor.
• We also have laptops, cameras, and video cameras available for Honors student use with their class/university projects.
