Degree Plans

Master of Arts, Plan I.
This option calls for 30 semest hours in History, including 6 semester hous of cred for the thesis. The thesis is a substantial piece of written work based on primary and secondary research. Openings for the Plan I option are limited, and approval of the department chair is required.

Master of Arts, Plan II.
This option is intended for those who prefer not to write a thesis. Instead, students complete 36 semester hours of coursework in Hitory and write an article-length paper in a capstone research seminar.
