Rosanne M. Barker joined the History faculty in the fall of 1992. She teaches courses in Women's History, Native American history, and Colonial America. Her article, "Small Town Progressivism: Pearl Chase and Female Activism in Conservation in Santa Barbara, California," was published in the Southern California Quarterly. A full-length book manuscript on Pearl Chase, based on Rosanne's dissertation, is currently under review by the University of New Mexico Press.  Dr. Barker is also the author of Women and Domestic Life in Early America, 1585-1800 published online at http://www.xanedu.com, and is currently working on an article--“A History of Animals and Society”–which will be published by the Delmar Publishing Group.
