ON-LINE COURSES

I am a
Professor of History at Sam Houston State University. I received my college
education at San Jose State College (now University) and Stanford
University. I finished my Ph.D. in 1983 at Stanford. I have worked for
the Hoover Institution as a library specialist and have taught at the college
and university level at Menlo College, the University of Nevada--Reno, New Mexico
State University, Norwich University, Middle East Technical University and
for the past twenty-one years here at Sam Houston State University. My
areas or research interest are geographically Southeastern Europe, Byzantium,
Russia, and the Middle East and the thematically military and diplomatic
history. I teach a number of courses in these fields, as well as surveys in
Ancient and World history.
