Greetings! I'm Terry Bilhartz, Chair of the Department of History, and I am proud to announce that Sam Houston State University has one of the largest, and if I may boast, one of the best MA programs in History in the nation. We currently have more than 100 graduate students enrolled in our program. Our Graduate Faculty includes nationally recognized teachers and scholars, which together have published more than a dozen books in the last two years. Students accepted in the program may take classes here at the Huntsville campus, or evening classes at the University Center, which is located in The Woodlands. We also offer about 10 classes each semester online through distance education. Our most popular major areas of study include Military History, Early and Recent American History, and World History.
