Biogeography

I am a physical geographer with research interests in both biogeography and climatology. Being from Hawaii, I have always wanted to do something on island biogeography and so that is a future project. Since graduating from the University of Georgia, I have been part-time instructing at various colleges and universities in all of the different states my husband has moved me to (i.e.,Farmville, VA; Rochester, NH; Ruston, LA and now TX). As a result, I have taught eight different geography courses and three different internet geography courses in these past 10 years. In addition to teaching here at SHSU, I am also teaching at Lone Star College - Montgomery and an internet class for Louisiana Delta Community College.

What takes up most of my time are my two kids - my son, Prezley (6) and daughter, Memphis (2). In the rare spare moments of my life, I do enjoy going out for a run. My husband and I are excited that the kids are now getting old enough to where we can start fishing again. We recently discovered surf fishing here in TX and can't wait to get more involved with that hobby.
