Dr. Matthews received his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center, and his Master of Accounting and B.A. (Math/Economics) degrees from Rice University, Houston, Texas. He is licensed in the state of Texas as an Attorney at Law and a Certified Public Accountant. Prior to joining the faculty at Sam Houston State University, he had 30 years of experience in the private sector, focusing primarily on providing professional services in areas of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, corporate governance, administrative law, and litigation consulting to clients engaged primarily in the energy, regulated utilities, financial institutions, environmental, and health care industries. |
