Dr. Ashorn received his Ph.D. from the University of Arkansas in 1973, his MBA from Sam Houston State University in 1967, his BBA from Sam Houston State University in 1966, and his Associate of Arts degree from Blinn College in 1964.
Dr. Ashorn teaches currently teaches financial statement analysis at both the undergraduate and graduate level. His research areas include statement analysis, bank management, and international financial management.
Dr. Ashorn joined the College of Business Administration at Sam Houston State University in 1970 and became chair of the Department of General Business and Finance in 1987. He held that position until the Fall 2003 semester when he became Associate Dean and Coordinator of Graduate Studies until the present. He also served as Interim Dean of the College during the 2008 – 2009 academic year.
