Safety Issues

1. Try to pay for small purchases with small bills. Avoid waving large sums of money about. It is also wise to avoid wearing expensive jewelry, in order to deter theft. AGAIN: simply do not bring jewelry that has monetary or sentimental value.

2. If you carry a purse, hold it next to you in crowded public places. Money bags that you hide under your clothing can be handy. Also fanny packs seem to work well.

3. Read carefully the Consular Information Sheet

4. Toledo is a relatively safe city, but don't put yourself at risk. Use your common sense.

5. Go around with your buddies and watch after each other, especially at night. Do not leave anyone stranded.
