Credit by Exam
The Department of Foreign Languages will grant CLEP credit based the national norms for all
CLEP exams in all languages for all transfer and all resident students. The Department requires
a Department-generated placement test for all students who receive CLEP credit and who enroll
for the first time in Department courses at SHSU.
Effective immediately the Department of Foreign Language will accept qualifying CLEP results from SHSU students across the board at the following credit levels at the following nationally-normed scores:
50 - 56 (141)
57 - 62 (141 and 142)
63 - 70 (141, 142, and 263)
71 - 80 (141, 142, 263, and 264)
