TEACH Grant Program

 

Through the College Cost Reduction and Access Act of 2007, Congress created the Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program that provides grants of up to $4,000 per year to students who intend to teach in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves students from low-income families. This new program was created to assist students that are seeking degrees in high-need fields and anticipate teaching in those fields at the secondary or elementary level. The TEACH Grant program at Sam Houston State University was implemented during the 2008-2009 academic year and is available to undergraduate junior and seniors and to students seeking a master's degree.  Students may review more information about the obligations at www.teachgrant.ed.gov.
