Exploring Shakespeare
Shakespeare wrote some thirty-eight plays in the course of a quarter century.  Taken individually, several of them are among the world's finest written works.  Taken collectively, they establish Shakespeare as the foremost literary talent of his own Elizabethan age and, even more impressively, as a genius whose creative achievement has never been surpassed in any age.  In this introduction, participants will touch on the unique questions of where the power of his work came from and why it towers over not only English literature, but all literature since the time of his death.  The magic of his Lear, his Hamlet, his Macbeth and even his Falstaff still walk the stages unchallenged.  So come be a part of the journey to find out why Ben Johnson wrote "he was not of an age, but for all time."  (6 contact hours)

Beginning Yoga
The word yoga means "union" in Sanskrit, the language of ancient India where yoga originated.  One can think of the union occurring between the mind, body, and spirit.  What is commonly referred to as "yoga" can be more accurately described by the Sanskrit word asana, which refers to the practice of physical postures or poses.  Asana is only one of the eight "limbs" of yoga, the majority of which are more concerned with mental and spiritual well being than physical activity.   For those who are more advanced in the practice of yoga, additional instruction will allow you to enjoy the sessions with those less advanced.  (12 contact hours)
