Apply for housing

• On-campus housing through Residence Life.  This applies to students entering SHSU directly from high school.
• An off-campus housing list can be viewed on the Residence Life Website and then clicking on ‘Huntsville Apt. Listing (PDF)’

Meet with your academic advisor in the Student Advising and Mentoring (SAM) Center.  The SAM Center is located in the College of Humanities & Social Science Building – Suite 170.  To contact the SAM Center, please call 936-294-4444

• During registration you may:
  • Sign up for a parking permit
  • Opt to pay tuition and fees on an installment plan
  • Reserve textbooks through the SHSU Barnes and Nobles bookstore

Pay your tuition and fees by the deadline stated on your fee statement. To pay in person, visit the Estill Building – Suite 103

To pay online:
1. Log into My Sam
2. Click on “My Account”
3. Click on “Make Payment through the Student Account Center”

Submit proof of meningitis vaccination at least 10 days prior to the first class day or 10 days prior to move-in  date if living on campus.  Documentation should be sent to the SHSU Health Center, additional information can be found by visiting www.shsu.edu/meningitis

Attend mandatory International Student Orientation though the Office of International Programs

Check-in at Office of International Programs, Farrington 116, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the following documents:

• Passport
• Visa
• Stamped I-20
• I-94
• Driver’s License (if applicable)
• Social Security Card (if applicable)
