Visit the campuses of your top five choices |

Talk to people who have attended the college you are interested in |

Volunteer in your community |

Continue to read books, magazines and newspapers |

Begin checking on financial aid application requirements with your top 5 choice schools |
Fall
Meet with your counselor to determine the courses you still need to take |

Check your class ranking |

Sign up for the SAT/ACT |
|
Make sure you have a social security card |
|
Volunteer in your community |
|
Research possible careers you may be interested in |
|
Get a part-time job, or shadow a profession that interests you |
|
Start or update an academic resume |
|
Visit colleges, prepare a list of questions to ask, and talk with college students |
Spring
Meet with your counselor to review graduation requirements |

Retake the SAT/ACT to improve your score |
|
Continue to stay involved in extracurricular activities |
|
If a recommendation letter is needed for admittance, begin thinking about who knows you well enough to write a positive letter on your behalf. (Teacher, Coach, Church Leader, etc.) |

Take campus tours of your top choice colleges |
