Research Enhancement Dr. April Shemak's Research Enhancement proposal has been funded by SHSU's Research and Special Programs. Congratulations Dr. Shemak!
Prestigious Appointment
According to their website, the IPPS "oversees publication of The Yearbook of Langland Studies (YLS), sponsors sessions at the International Congresses at Kalamazoo, MI and Leeds, UK; organizes international conferences on Piers Plowman; and maintains this website, which includes information on these activities and a searchable database of the annual annotated bibliographies published in YLS." Cleaning the Well: Poems Old and New Dr. Paul Ruffin's sixth collection of poetry Cleaning the Well: Poems Old and New will be published by Plains Press this year. SHSU Writing Project The SHSU Writing Project has received a continuation grant from the National Writing Project, which will allow the program to continue through June 30, 2009. Dr. Bridges, Professor and Chair of the Department of English, and Nancy Votteler from the Departmant of Language, Literacy, and Special Populations are Co-Directors of the project. |
Dr. Melissa Morphew's Weeding Borges' Garden has been accepted for publication by Turning Point Press. She projects a publication date of 2009 or 2010.
The English Department's very own Dr. Robert Adams has been asked to serve a four-year term as Director of the International Piers Plowman Society (IPPS).
