BEFORE YOU APPLY FOR STUDENT TEACHING KNOW THE FOLLOWING:

Certification Program: EC-4, EC-6, 4-8, EC-8, 8-12, EC-12

NOTE: Information displayed on the Student Teacher Application is drawn from your degree plan. Incorrect information should be corrected before submitting application (Carefully examine placement tags for new certifications).

A STUDENT TEACHING APPLICATION IS A PROFESSIONAL REFLECTION OF THE APPLICANT

A second criminal history background check will be completed on all student teachers
Print, sign, and submit to OFE (TEC 212-Ed Prep Services) 4 copies of application

3 applications WITH PHOTOGRAPH IMAGE printed on a color printer
1 application WITHOUT A PHOTOGRAPH IMAGE printed on a color printer

Original signature and date required on all 4 copies

Student Teacher Orientation–(8 am) early/mid Jan. (Spring) or Aug (Fall).

Student Teaching is your final coursework to be completed.

Note: Some financial aid programs (i.e. Pell Grant) may not recognize our program’s position (see SHSU Catalog): “Candidates registered for 9 hours during the student teacher semester are considered to be full-time students.” This may result in a reduction of financial aid. Students with questions should contact the SHSU financial aid office.
