Office of Field Experience
Students are responsible for ALL information on the Office of Field Experience Level I Field Experience Website.
Teacher candidates enrolled in SPD 231- Introduction to Special Education- will need an assignment in any setting or combination of settings that involve the teaching of special education students. These settings include Resource, Inclusion, Content Mastery, Self-Contained, and any classroom where special education students are included. INCLUSION SETTINGS ARE PREFERRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED. Students may be moved around at a campus to particular settings during their field experience. Teacher candidates are required to complete and document ten (10) hours of public school field experience required for this course.
The candidates’ role in the classroom will be passive. The candidates will not interfere with the students, teacher, or others during their visit, and will not interrupt or participate in the regular operations of the classroom or school.
Registration for 10 Hours of Level I Field Experience: 9:00 PM Monday, 1/25 UNTIL 9:00 PM Tuesday, 2/2 .
Forms submitted on Tk20 (to be completed within the first few weeks of class)
