What is the Sam Houston Writing Project?

The Sam Houston Writing Project is a center dedicated to strengthening the teaching of writing in the schools of East Texas.

What does the Sam Houston Writing Project offer? 

Ø A resource library of current books, periodicals, and curriculum materials in the teaching of literacy.

Ø The dissemination of information regarding effective practices and research in literacy instruction.

Ø Multicultural approaches to the teaching of literacy.

Ø Inservice training programs throughout the academic year.

Ø A Summer Institute for teachers in grades kindergarten through college/university.
