The mission of the College of Education's Full Circle Literacy Project is to promote literacy through cross-generational tutoring and mentorship. To this end, four programs began in 2002: The Senior Reader program, Computer Companions, The Chicken Soup Group, and Life Matters. All programs were a joint effort between the College of Education (through an SHSU Enhancement Grant for Research), local businesses, public schools, and retirement homes. The Senior Reader program celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.
