Mathematics is important for all citizens, and all students are required to demonstrate proficiency in math across several grade levels. Improving student achievement in math requires efforts by teachers and administrators working with individuals trained in mathematics leadership. At Sam Houston State we offer a 30 hour Master’s of Arts Degree in Instructional Leadership with an emphasis in Math Education. This Online degree program is designed to provide academic and practical education for those wanting to work as Math specialists. Graduate students will learn theory and best practices for continuous improvement related to leadership, curriculum planning, professional development, research tools, program evaluation, and math education.
Students will be mentored by nationally and internationally recognized professors who are current in the field of math education and instructional leadership, care about student success, build lasting relationships, and serve as career references.
