At Sam Houston State University's Center for Research and Counselor Education, we pride ourselves on our unwavering committment to educating leaders in the counseling field. By providing our students with expert instruction from our faculty based on up-to-date research, as well as hands-on practicum experience, we intend to equip our graduates with the dispositions, knowledge, and skills to be successful in many counseling related arenas. Our goal is to facilitate the education of graduates who can expertly plan, implement, assess and modify counseling interventions to serve diverse populations, using "cutting-edge" technology. |
We are committed to serving not only the Huntsville community, but also the region by offering graduate coursework through sponsoring school districts such as Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, Conroe ISD, and Spring Branch ISD, and interactive television instruction to school districts affiliated with the Region VI Educational Service Center. Our courses are offered at the Teacher Education Center on the Sam Houston State University campus, and at various sites in the Aldine, Conroe, and The Woodlands areas. Our Counseling Practicum clinic offers free counseling several evenings per week, and our field practicum interns serve individuals and families from Houston to the south, Bryan/College Station area to the west, Mexia and other communities in the north, to Livingston and other communities to the east.
We look forward to all the new students we will be receiving in these programs and look forward to working together with you to meet your educational and vocational goals. |
