Parent Training Modules For Parents and Educators of Linguistically and Culturally Diverse Students

Project TRIAD is a federally funded grant intended to improve reading instruction for Limited English Proficient (LEP) students in school districts with fewer than 165 LEP qualified students. Project TRIAD provides free of charge staff development, educational stipends, and/or course tuition for 4 continuing professional development semesters. Scholarships are available for full tuition for TRIAD participants. To meet the requirements for participation in this grant, you must be an administrator/counselor, reading teacher of LEP, or a Bilingual/ESL teacher. Districts wishing to participate are encouraged to submit at least one professional in each of the preceding categories for inclusion in the program.

Project TRIAD offers professional development sessions by nationally known experts in the field of reading to cohort teams of three professionals from each of the participating districts. Additionally, these teams will participate in field-based work on their own campuses, which will assist in bringing about reading improvement. All participants will receive stipends or tuition costs for university credit. The grant also provides $350 per participant for travel, professional books, and materials. Additionally, the grant pays for substitutes for teachers who will be participating in the professional development courses.
