Steps for Successful Professional Certification
- Complete your program requirements
- Attend a review (if required)
- Take the practice exam (if required and any other related examinations) and obtain test approval
- Update SBEC account
- Register for and pass the appropriate TExES exams
- When TExES score is received:
- Passing Score - Log onto SBEC and apply for professional certification
- Non-Passing Score - Contact the program coordinator
Certification Information
Approximately two (2) week after graduation you will be conferred and during the following four (4) weeks the certification officer will recommend you to SBEC, provided you have taken and passed all required TExES exams. You will receive an email from SBEC concerning your recommendation.
Apply at: State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC)
- You will receive your Professional Certificate by mail in approximately nine weeks
- School districts may confirm the approval of your certification on the SBEC website
