Philosophy of Education

Education is a life long process. There is something to be learned in every task and every situation. I believe that all students can learn, and that it is the educator’s responsibility to find the motivating factors which provide the avenue for constructing meaning. Education is the process of enabling and empowering students to problem solve and create. Students must be prepared to live and adapt to an ever-changing world.

Philosophy of Leadership

Leadership requires knowledge, skill, empowerment, and guidance. True leaders acquire necessary information to make sound decisions and appropriate strategies for implementation. Leaders empower their staff or employees to take action and they are beside them to encourage each step they take.

Vision for Learners

Learners are in search of knowledge and skills. Learning takes place in a risk-free, supportive environment where students are allowed to discover new meaning through hands-on activities that require interaction and involvement. All children should be given the opportunity for successful experiences acquired through strategies designed to meet individual learning styles.

Vision for Teachers

A teacher can pave the way with "gold" for a child by empowering him/her with necessary strategies for learning. All teachers should provide a nurturing, supportive, enthusiastic atmosphere where students are eager to learn and take risks. Teachers should be professional role models and examples as they facilitate self-directed learning.

Vision for the Organization

Teamwork is the name of the game! Administrators, teachers, support staff, and parents must all work together to create a positive school climate that sets the stage for learning and student success. Brainstorming and sharing of ideas are vital components for quality decision making . Each member of the team should contribute in areas of personal strength and look for assistance when needed. Communication, collaboration and planning together encourages each member to give his/her best. Educators are servants; we serve the children we teach, their parents, and the community in which we live and work. The organization should be so closely woven that it withstands an occasional broken strand.

Vision for Professional Growth

Professional growth and development is a requirement for any life-long learner and is an integral part of any educator’s job. Provisions for staff development are essential in campus/district planning. Needs assessments should be conducted to seek areas of needed growth, interest, or information. Personal growth is motivational and catching! Faculty and staff will be encouraged to continually seek professional development.  I will make every effort to assist in arranging quality inservice training for the campus/district.

Method of Vision Attainment

To produce the finest educational program in a risk-free environment, faculty and staff must work together to meet the diverse needs of students. Communication, empowerment, and the motivation for all to be the "best they can be" is required of each organizational member. Originality and creativity will be encouraged to produce self-directed learners and teachers.
