REFLECTION ON PROFICIENCY VI

Undoubtedly one of the greatest responsibilities of a building principal is that of communication. Open lines of communication between parents, students, teachers, administrators and all other members of the learning community is clearly and ingredient for success.

Throughout my career in education I have taken great pride in effectively communicating with all stakeholders in the learning community.

The following archive is a copy of an article written by me for the Polk County Enterprise. The specific article outlines the progress that Livingston High School speech and debate team had made in recent months.

I believe the article and those like it served many purposes.

All students take great pride in their hard work and their accomplishments. It is extremely important that school officials publicly recognize them as often as possible in as many mediums as possible.

Also it is the right and the privilege of a given community to know how the students in a school are performing. In this instance, the success of Livingston High School forensics sparked greater interest and involvement from many stakeholders.
