Learner-Centered Communication
Demonstrating effective communication is one of the most important attributes of
an instruction leader. Displaying compassion and concern for constituents, whether they
are students, parents or teachers, is the foundation upon which a strong relationship is
built.
In addition to effectively communicating, the adage, "Actions speak louder than
words" is often just as important. Following this reflection are artifacts from student,
teacher, parent and organizational sponsors expressing satisfaction in my verbal and non-
verbal (action-oriented) communication.
I feel that as educational administrators, we are to serve our constituents the best
we know how. This is best modeled by being supportive and by being highly visible in
our areas of service. Sometimes the smallest deed gets the grandest rewards, as these
notes so eloquently display.
