ECO 335: Comaprative Economic Systems*

This course will focus on a comparison of the economic system in Japan with those in other advanced countries including the United States. It will also discuss the contributions of history, society, and culture to the evolution of the economic system.The class will comprise lectures by the instructor, invited scholars from host institution and businesses, and visits to business sites. 

ECO 374: Contemporary International Issues in Economics*

This course will focus on issues related to international trade between Japan and the U.S. It will further include a detailed comparative analysis of the financial systems in both countries with special emphasis on monetary policy and central banking. This course will also discuss how the current financial crisis has affected Japan and the US economy. The class will comprise lectures by the instructor, invited scholars from host institution and businesses, and visits to business sites.   

             
* If you have taken these classes or you need to take other business electives,  these courses can be substituted for other 300/400 level economics and other business classes. These courses can be taken for graduate credit with approval from the departmet chair and the associate dean.
